Temperature compliance is critical to protect product quality. For convenience retailers, refrigeration failures aren't just maintenance problems. They can quickly become inventory losses, food safety risks and missed sales opportunities. Monitoring systems help operators detect issues before they become emergencies, allowing staff to intervene early and protect both product and profits.
“Monitoring coolers and freezers ... is a process that absolutely needs to be done that will add value to your business,” said Rich Lopez, director of customer success at BOHA! by Transact during “Smart Refrigeration: New Temperature Monitoring for Less Spoilage,” a virtual educational session about temperature monitoring. “The more that you know about it, the better you're going to be able to save product, the better you're going to be able to service your clients, your customers.”
Better visibility into refrigeration performance helps retailers save products, maintain customer service levels and keep equipment operating efficiently.
Lopez recommends that retailers invest in a system that will give you multiple alerts. The more alerts that you can get as things progress, the better that you're going to be able to respond to them. “Getting a push notification on the tablet or on the handheld device that they're using in the store is going to be paramount. It's going to be your first line of defense,” he said.
Part 3, “Operational Excellence at Scale: The Power of Integrated Checklists & Workflows,” will take place September 22.
