At the close of the 2026 NACS Show, taking place this week October 6-9 in Las Vegas, the NACS Foundation, Vontier and Foodrecovery.org will recover surplus food from the NACS Show to help fight food insecurity in the Las Vegas area through the NACS Foundation’s Neighborhood Nourish program.
Unused food from exhibitors and event activities will be recovered, sorted and distributed through Three Square Food Bank’s local network to provide meals for individuals and families in need across the Las Vegas community.
The Neighborhood Nourish program helps the convenience retail industry come together to address food insecurity while promoting sustainability through food recovery efforts. By mobilizing volunteers and coordinating donations across the industry, the program creates a direct and measurable impact for communities where need is greatest.
"Convenience stores make a difference in the communities they serve and that’s also true for attendees at the NACS Show, the industry’s largest annual event," said Kevin O'Connell, executive director of the NACS Foundation. "We are proud to work with retail and supplier members and technology partners like Vontier to give back"
Last year, 80 volunteers recovered 120,380 pounds of food and drinks from 49 exhibitors, equal to more than 100,000 meals, at the 2025 NACS Show in Chicago.
“Food insecurity is a local problem, and convenience stores are as local as it gets,” said Sammie Paul, executive director of Foodrecovery.org, an online platform connecting organizations with surplus food to communities in need. “We're proud to help turn surplus from the NACS Show into support for the community hosting this year's event. With SNAP changes putting more pressure on families and food banks, partnerships like this have never mattered more.”
The collected food will be distributed through Three Square Food Bank, a local organization that distributes food throughout the Las Vegas community.
"Food recovery is one of the most practical ways businesses and conventions can contribute to a hunger-free community. In 2024, Three Square rescued nearly 80,000 pounds of food through the NACS Show,” Beth Martino, president and CEO of Three Square Food Bank. “Neighborhood Nourish builds on that impact, turning surplus food into nourishment for our neighbors throughout Southern Nevada. This collaboration demonstrates what's possible when we work together to ensure good food reaches those in need."
For the second consecutive year, Vontier will contribute $50,000 to support the NACS Foundation’s Neighborhood Nourish Program.
"At Vontier, we believe creating meaningful impact extends beyond the innovative technologies we deliver to our customers," said Elaine Kanak, chief marketing officer at Vontier. "Through our continued partnership with the NACS Foundation and the Neighborhood Nourish program, we are helping strengthen communities, reduce food waste and support families in need. This collaboration reflects our purpose in responsible action and demonstrates the power of industry partnerships to create lasting positive change."
Earlier this year, Vontier expanded its commitment to Neighborhood Nourish through a separate $25,000 sponsorship and meal packaging event conducted in partnership with nonprofit Convoy of Hope, helping to distribute more than 10,000 pounds of food to children and families in need across the Raleigh community. Combined with the company’s $50,000 contribution supporting food recovery efforts at the 2026 NACS Show, Vontier’s total annual investment in Neighborhood Nourish will reach $75,000.
Additionally at the 2026 NACS Show, the NACS Foundation will be collecting donations to help raise funds to feed 5,000 children through Neighborhood Nourish. You can donate online or at the NACS Foundation booth.
