OXXO and DK Fuel recently hosted two grand opening celebrations in El Paso, Texas, as part of its ongoing transformation of former DK Convenience locations across the region, the retailer said in a press release sent to NACS.
“The events highlighted continued investment in store improvements, foodservice offerings, customer rewards and community engagement as OXXO expands its presence throughout the Southwest. … While the convenience stores are transitioning to OXXO, the fuel brands have not changed. DK and Alon remain owned by Delek and continue to operate independently. Through a long-term branded fuel supply relationship, many OXXO-operated locations continue to offer DK Fuel or Alon Fuel at the pump,” the retailer said.
In 2024, Delek US Holdings sold its retail business to FEMSA, parent company of OXXO, for $385 million.
Delek had 249 stores in the Southwestern region of the United States, primarily in Texas and New Mexico, under the DK brand. FEMSA is based out of Mexico and runs operations in over 17 countries, including its OXXO brand, the largest small-format proximity store operator in the Americas with over 22,800 stores in five countries, including Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru and Brazil.
Meanwhile, ExtraMile Convenience Stores said it has opened more than 10 new stores in Georgia in 2026, and “continues to see success in the southeast,” the retailer said on LinkedIn.
“Last month, a new ExtraMile store opened in Duluth, Georgia. Just as the city takes pride in old and new, ExtraMile takes pride in fueling journeys in the Peach State.”
In Kentucky, Huck’s Food and Fuel opened its newest store in Lexington. “Countless hours of hard work and dedication went into making this store a reality, and we're incredibly proud of everyone who played a part. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us,” the retailer posted on LinkedIn.
Royal Farms announced the grand opening of its newest location in Chester, Virginia, will take place on July 27.
Located at 12000 Moores Lake Road, this brand-new store will provide 24/7 access to fresh food, fuel and convenience items. To commemorate the opening, Royal Farms will host a ticketed “Get Ready to ROFO” soft opening event on July 22 and 23.
