QuikTrip Continues Illinois Expansion

QuikTrip (QT) is celebrating the opening of a new travel center in South Holland, Illinois, “continuing the company’s expansion across the Chicago market and the state of Illinois,” the retailer said in a press release sent to NACS.

QT said the new South Holland travel center is designed to serve both residents and drivers traveling through the area along the Tri-State Tollway. As a travel center, it features a larger lot and a more spacious store design than a traditional QT. It has room to service 16 vehicles for gas and has six diesel bays for trucks.

Inside, customers will find QT Kitchens, the company’s signature foodservice offering, featuring a wide selection of grab-and-go meals and made-to-order options.

The South Holland opening continues the company’s recent Chicagoland growth, including its Minooka and Bridgeview locations that opened earlier this year and additional locations under construction in Rolling Meadows and Kankakee.

TravelCenters of America (TA), part of the BP portfolio, recently opened a new store in Robertsdale, Alabama. 

“Located along I-10, this travel center offers professional drivers and travelers access to quality fuel, food, parking, truck service and amenities designed to support every journey,” the retailer said. From the distinctive railroad-inspired atmosphere to the photo-worthy train tracks that run through the site, the location delivers a memorable experience for drivers and travelers passing through Alabama's Gulf Coast.”

Dash In celebrated the opening of its new store in Prince Frederick, Maryland. “The grand opening of Dash In’s newest convenience store at 465 Solomons Island Road North, Prince Frederick, Maryland, welcomed local leaders, nonprofit organizations, first responders, neighbors and Dash In team members for a day centered on fresh food, community connections and giving back,” the company said.

To celebrate the new location, Dash In presented $19,000 in donations to five local organizations throughout Calvert County:

• $5,000 to American Chestnut Land Trust
• $5,000 to Arts Council of Calvert County
• $5,000 to End Hunger, Calvert
• $2,000 to Calvert High School
• $2,000 to Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department

Over at Royal Farms, the retailer announced the grand opening of its newest location in Shamokin Dam, Pennsylvania, on August 3, 2026.

“Located at 2943 N. Susquehanna Trail, Shamokin Dam, Pennsylvania, this brand-new store will provide 24/7 access to high-quality, fresh food, fuel and convenience items, continuing Royal Farms' mission of delighting the communities it calls home. To commemorate this exciting milestone, Royal Farms will host a special, ticketed ‘Get Ready to ROFO’ soft opening event on July 29 and 30, 2026, inviting the community to preview the new store and experience its signature offerings, including a complimentary meal from the soft opening menu and friendly customer service,” Royal Farms said.
