Casey’s, GPM Launch New Foodservice Items With an Eye on Summer Traffic

Casey’s is kicking off the summer season by offering “a summer BBQ, now on a pizza” with its new BBQ pulled pork pizza. It’s also offering King’s Hawaiian pulled pork sliders, the retailer announced.

The BBQ pulled pork pizza starts with Casey’s made-from-scratch dough and is then topped with Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce, mozzarella, slow-smoked pulled pork, bacon, cheddar cheese, red onion and thick-cut pickles.

“Casey’s new BBQ pulled pork pizza exemplifies the unexpected food innovation we continue to deliver to our guests, emphasizing the surprising reality that you can get a delicious meal with fresh ingredients and bold flavors from a convenience store,” said Tom Brennan, Casey’s chief merchandising officer.

The sliders are made with hand-trimmed, slow-smoked pulled pork, topped with Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce and thick-cut pickles and served on three King's Hawaiian slider buns.

GPM Investments, an Arko Corp. subsidiary with brands including E-Z Mart, fas mart and many others, is now offering Nathan’s Famous hot dogs at more than 450 locations, the company said in a statement.

This is a continuation of the company’s enhanced food program rollout, which aims to provide the best quality food at the best prices available, according to GPM Investments.

“We’re dedicated to offering our customers high-quality food options, and exclusively selling Nathan’s Famous allows us to take that commitment a step further,” said Arie Kotler, president and CEO of Arko. “This enables us to stand by our key food pillars, which are relevant, delicious and easy to execute offerings. Paired with the upcoming summer season, we are eager to add this iconic hot dog to our menu, providing our customers with an appetizing and convenient option they’ll love.”

GPM has also recently upped its pizza game, offering a month of promotions earlier this year.
