Tyson Foodservice has launched three new chicken products for operators.

Following the success of its Tyson Honey Stung bone-in chicken line, the manufacturer unveiled a line of boneless tenderloins in two new flavor profiles: Original honey and hot honey, made with real honey for an “authentic taste,” said the company.

According to Datassential, “the pairing of honey and chicken is a classic favorite among consumers, with hot honey flavor profiles witnessing 40% growth in the last 12 months and 111% growth in the last four years.”

Under its Jimmy Dean brand, Tyson launched a new line of chicken breakfast sausage products, available in both links and patties.

According to the Datassential 2023 “New Foundations in Health” report, 57% of consumers express a preference for low-sodium options, which are included in Tyson Foodservice’s new chicken sausage line. The Jimmy Dean fully cooked chicken breakfast sausage has 60% less fat per serving compared to USDA fully cooked pork sausage. “These new chicken breakfast sausage products align perfectly with evolving consumer demands and provide a guilt-free indulgence for breakfast enthusiasts,” said Tyson.

Adding to its Tyson Red Label product line, the company introduced fully cooked authentically crispy bone-in chicken wing sections that it said “save time and labor in the kitchen, allowing operators to cater to customer demand efficiently.” The bone-in chicken wing sections feature “a proprietary breading process that ensures a super crispy exterior, maintaining crunchiness for up to 30 minutes even when sauced.” The wings are available in original or spicy flavors.

The offerings follow the ‘swicy,’ or sweet and spicy, flavor trend, which some foodservice experts are calling the hottest flavor trend of the summer.
